How to play gift-opening bingo
Gift-opening bingo keeps guests engaged during what can otherwise be a long stretch of watching. Here's how to set it up:
- Check the registry. Open the gift-opening list in the card maker, remove anything that's not likely, and add registry favorites. The closer the list is to real gifts, the more squares get marked.
- Personalize the card. Add a title like "Emma's Shower Bingo," switch the top letters to BRIDE, and rename the free space LOVE or the couple's initials.
- Print cards and hand them out with pens as guests sit down for gifts.
- Name each gift out loud. The maid of honor or another helper announces each gift as it's opened, while someone else writes the gift list for thank-you notes.
- Guests mark matches and call "Bingo!" when they complete a line. Keep going for four corners and a blackout if there are plenty of gifts.
Blank prediction cards
For a more personal twist, print blank fill-in cards. Before gifts start, guests write the gifts they think the bride will receive, one per square. Guests who know the couple well have an edge, which makes for good-natured competition. In the card maker, choose Blank fill-in and turn on the gift-opening title. Every blank card is the same grid, so give guests about five minutes to fill theirs in.
Find the guest bingo
At many showers, the bride's college friends, coworkers, and future in-laws are meeting for the first time. Find the guest bingo gives them a reason to talk. Hand out cards as guests arrive, set a 15-minute timer during the welcome, and award a prize to the first guest who completes a line with a different name in each square. Swap in prompts that fit your group, like "was at the proposal" or "has the same birthday month as the groom."
Bridal shower bingo for long-distance guests
If some guests join by video, make the cards at 1 per page and email each of them a different page before the shower. They can print it or mark it on a tablet, and hold up their card when they get a line.
