How to make bingo cards in three steps

Types of bingo cards you can make
Word bingo
Squares hold words or short phrases. It's the most popular choice for parties and showers: gift-opening bingo, Christmas movie bingo, or office party bingo where players mark things that happen. For classroom games, type items as answer | clue (for example, 42 | 6 × 7): the card shows the answer, and the caller sheet shows the clue to read aloud.
Number bingo (1–75)
The classic game. On a 5 × 5 card, each column holds its own range of numbers: the first column uses 1–15, the second 16–30, and so on up to 75. Smaller grids use 1–60 (4 × 4) and 1–45 (3 × 3).
Find someone who bingo
An icebreaker with no caller. Each square is a prompt, like "has been to another continent," with a line underneath for a name. Players mingle to find a different person for each square.
Blank fill-in bingo
Empty grids that players fill in themselves. At a bridal or baby shower, guests write the gifts they think will be opened, then mark them off as the gifts come out.
Picture bingo
Colorful pictures instead of words, for young children and anyone who can't read small text. Choose from 292 pictures in 14 themes, like animals, food, Halloween, and Christmas, and the caller shows each picture on screen.
90-ball bingo tickets

How many words do you need for a bingo card?
A 5 × 5 bingo card with a free space needs at least 24 words. Using more words than the minimum makes every card more different, which matters most for blackout games.

Why the recommended number helps: with exactly 24 words on a 5 × 5 card, every card has the same words in a different order. Line wins still vary, but every player completes a full-card blackout on the same call. A 4 × 4 card has no middle square, so it has no free space.
Printing your bingo cards
Cards are sized for both US Letter (used in the United States and Canada) and A4 (used in the UK and Australia). The maker picks the usual paper for your region, and you can switch before downloading. Every layout leaves half-inch margins, so nothing gets cut off on home or office printers.

A few tips for printing:
- Print at actual size (100%). "Fit to page" also works; cards just come out slightly smaller.
- Use ink saver for big batches. It prints black lines on white with no color fills.
- Turn on large print for older guests or young readers.
- Cut along the dashed lines when printing two or four cards per page.
- Print on cardstock, or slip cards into sheet protectors and use dry-erase markers to play again.
The caller sheet
The caller sheet is a separate PDF for whoever runs the game, so it doesn't get printed with the player cards. It lists every word or number with a checkbox to mark as you call it. For classroom clue lists, it shows the clue to read and the answer beside it. You can add cut-apart call slips to draw from a hat, and a how-to-play page with the rules.
The caller sheet also has a QR code. Scan it to reopen the same set on any device and make more cards that match the ones you printed.
Save your set and make more cards later
Every set has a link that rebuilds the exact same cards. Card 37 is always card 37, so if more guests show up, choose "Make more cards" and the numbering picks up where you left off, with no repeated cards. Most links hold the whole set inside the link itself. Very long lists are saved as a short link instead.
The maker also remembers your recent sets on this device, and you can download your word list as a text file to open again later. Saved links contain your list, so share them only with people you trust.
